Amplissime Magistratus!

Sigilatum Zombor 24 augusti 1811.

Amplissimi Magistratus
Humillimus servus
Salamon Veisz Judaus gremialis et judaici tracter arendator

Ad Amplissimum Magistratum Libere Regieque Civitatis Zomboriensi
Salamon Veisz Judaus gremialis semet in usu beneficii civici judaici quippe tracter erga actualis arenda depensionem ultro quoque stabiliri supplicat.

Exalted Magistrate!

I am asking the exalted Magistrate to honor me with the fact that I currently hold a lease over the Jewish inn, which gives a considerable income to the city treasury, and that I received the lease at a public auction, and after that the said inn began to bring serious income. In accordance with the circumstances, I try to keep it that way, and to further increase the mentioned income, it only bothers me that I am not safe enough in that, since the members of the Jewish community are intriguing, they are envious and do everything to deprive me of these privileges. I will also remind you that even before the lease of the inn, the Jewish community did not lack in amenities, but still tried to get hold of the inn, after which it would neglect it and thus significantly reduce the income of the city treasury. Namely, they do not hesitate to receive newcomers and entertain them in their home to the detriment of the inn. In order to prevent the mentioned damage and reduction of the city's income, I humbly ask the exalted Magistrate to, generously allowing me to continue to be the tenant of the Jewish inn, having in mind that I am a beneficiary of this privilege and how much income I bring in that way. With exceptional respect and devotion, certified in Sombor, on August 24, 1811.

Humble servant
Of the Exalted Magistrate
Salamon Veisz, a member of the Jewish community and a tenant of a Jewish inn

To the Exalted Magistrate of the Free Royal City of Sombor
Salamon Veisz, a member of the Jewish community, begs that his privilege of renting a Jewish inn be extended.
