No 155/357

After the report No. 96 from January 29 of this year, in connection with the masterpiece of the Jewish artisans, established by the decree of the Lieutenancy on October 19, 1788 under number 2734, which is not carried out in the city of Apatin, a copy is attached stating what needs to be observed and implemented.

Novi Sad, March 9, 1789.

To the Bačka county

The highest decree prescribing how Jews were introduced to crafts and how they were promoted to masters, either in this county or throughout the Kingdom, was issued on March 31, 1789, under No. 1828. Because the insight into the success of this decree for the introduction of Jews into crafts and their acquisition of a master's degree is needed, the county is required to provide comprehensive information on this within 14 days of receiving the letter. In the event that some Jews became masters, it must be stated in detail whether they were considered equal to other masters, and whether they were restricted during the training.
